Decorative Art
My techniques originated from the northern regions of Greater
Russia. They consist of the traditional black lacquer on wooden
objects, such as jewelry boxes, nested dolls, eggs, and dishes.
Northern Russian nature scenery is not as rich and colorful as
that of the southern regions. In the winter time people think of
warm & beautiful summers. During the long autumn and winter
evenings, they decorate their belongings, such as dishes,
furniture & clothing in multi-colored designs. Red & Gold on
Black is a very traditional combination. The traditional
technique presents a border with floral-plant pattern making the
design look neat and noble. |
